<p>Modern implementations of the diet may use oral drops or homeopathic hCG, but <a href="http://livingfitness.net/hcg-diet-protocol/">Dr Simeons protocol</a> only uses injections, which can be placed directly into stores of accumulated fat, requiring 25-30% less of the hormone than sublingual drops. Those seeking maximum weight loss can opt for a 40-day protocol, where both injections and the 500-calorie diet are maintained for 40 days. <p>Food is only eaten at lunch and dinner. Coffee or tea in any quantity without sugar may be consumed in the morning. Both lunch and dinner use the same meal plan: one breadstick, one vegetable, one fruit, and 100 grams of fresh fish or meat with any visible fat cut off. No alcohol, oil-based dressings or sugar are allowed at any time. The only other beverage allowed is water.</p>
