Are you suffering from Psoriasis? Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that affects people usually between ages 15 and 35. It is non-contagious. It undergoes remission when treated properly. However, there are several factors that can trigger its appearance. These factors include stress, allergies, skin injury and certain medications. A common question people ask about this condition is: does psoriasis get better or worse with age? According to several sources, psoriasis does not get better or worsen with age. It may come and go without any apparent reason.

Psoriasis are of different types: plaque psoriasis, guttate psoriasis, inverse psoriasis, pustular psoriasis, and erythrodermic psoriasis. To learn more about psoriasis, you may visit the web for several sources or you may download a psoriasis ebook, which can give you all the information you need about this condition.

Types of Psoriasis

*Erythrodermic psoriasis – the rarest among all the other types of psoriasis. It starts with an outbreak of red, inflamed rashes that can be found in the entire body. It is a painful type of psoriasis and can lead to death when left untreated. Complications may lead to dehydration, congestive heart failure and pneumonia.

*Plaque psoriasis – is also known as psoriasis vulgaris. It is the most common type of psoriasis that starts as thick patches on the skin, often times covered with dry, silver scales. Usually, the back, scalp, knees and elbows are affected. This type is itchy and can be painful at times.

*Guttate psoriasis – it is the second most common among all the other types. It starts as small, red spots that are teardrop-shaped. It can be found most commonly on the abdomen, arms and legs.

*Pustular psoriasis – it is the second to the least common type of psoriasis. It starts as thick, inflamed patches that are covered with pus and blisters.

*Inverse psoriasis – this type most commonly appears in areas with the skin is folded like the buttocks, armpits, under the breasts, around the genitals and the groin.

Tendonitis is a condition characterized by an inflamed tendon. The presence of this disruption causes pain at the bone portions where the tendon is connected. Some experts use the term tendinopathy as a generalized reference used to describe common clinical conditions which affect the tendons. Common symptoms include pain and swelling as well as impairment in optimum functioning.

A tendon is a hard yet flexible band of fibrous tissue which the muscles to the bones. Understanding the importance of the tendon requires an understanding of the connecting functions between the bones and muscles. The skeletal muscles in the body are responsible for moving your bones. This enables mobility allowing the individual to walk, jump, lift objects, and move in various ways. When a muscle contracts it pulls on a bone to cause movements and the tendon serves as the channel for transmission which delivers the force of the muscle contraction to the bone.

Diagnosis of tendonitis requires a medical history and careful physical examination. On physical examination, there often will be tenderness along the involved tendon or its outer barrier. It may also be found at one particular point within the tendon. Pain may also manifest when the muscle to which the tendon is attached is worked against resistance. Tendons do not show on X-rays however radiologic examinations may be required to rule out bone injuries. Conditions with the tendons do not necessitate any blood tests and even though magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and diagnostic ultrasound can be helpful in detecting this problem, doctors usually do not require patients to go through with these tests and opt for natural arthritis remedies as initial treatment instead.

Conditions involving inflamed tendons may appear more on certain sites such as: Patellar and popliteal tendons and iliotibial band at the knee, achilles tendon at the heel, rotator cuff of the shoulder and bicipital tendons, insertion of the wrist extensors such as the tennis elbow as well as the flexors at the elbow. These may also appear at the insertion of the posterior tibial tendon in the leg often at the shin splints

What is rheumatism tips and hints. How it works, for those that want to know. Our site provides essential information on what is rheumatism. WHAT IS RHEUMATISM. Both chronic and acute rheumatism are diseases of the blood, due to an excess of uric acid. The presence of this acid is due to excessive and imperfect action of the liver. Imperfect nutrition and deficient excretion are the primary causes, and the result is that the blood becomes loaded with poisonous matter. The trouble manifests itself in the joints, toes, ankles, knees or hands, but the seat of the disease is elsewhere. HOW TO TREATMENT. The first thing to be done is to promote the conversion of acid by oxidation and increased activity of the liver. The best way to accomplish this is by the daily use of the “Cascade,” first with hot water, then with cool water, doubling the antiseptic tonic. Do this twice a day for a week, then once a day for a month. Take a Turkish bath daily for a time to restore the functions of the skin. Rub the disabled joints with hot, oily applications, followed by massage and pressure movements. The diet should consist largely of green vegetables, mutton and whole wheat bread, or toast, eggs, milk and fruit. Avoid pastry and starchy food, such as potatoes, beans and white bread. A cup of hot water, not less than half an hour before breakfast, should not be omitted. This treatment will speedily cure the worst cases.
