FULL TEXT Vertical Gardening Part 1 As urban gardeners, we have a limited amount of space to grow our vegetables and flowers. What I have done is I have employed verticle gardening. Right here as you can see, I have a variety of different cucumber plants. Now, a cucumber is vining crop, which means that with vertical support like this one, you can train it to grow up and the fruit, Take a look right here, can grow perfectly fine on the vine. Different types of crops that work well in a vertical garden are watermelon and pumpkin. Let us go take a look. Here, as you can see, my pumpkin plants are thriving. Pumpkin plants are also vining crops. Now, in the country, where you have a lot of space, you can just let this grow along the ground, but here in a city environment, we do not have all that space. So, what I have done here is, I put together a dog kennel. This is actually really nifty. It is exactly 4 x 4 so it fits perfectly in your raise beds. And, these vines just slough on themselves eventually. You do not have to continuously train them. Okay, so you can go vining crops on vertical supports, but there are other types of plants that also need support like my

Watch a Pre-January 8th copy of Inception. Listen closely when the actors say imagine, reality, and safe, or point pistols. You’ll hear the words, Loughner, offin’ her, part of the word Giffords, and much more. Some say they hear, do it.

Im The Kentuckiana Gardener and we also enjoy growing organically. We started our low cost raised beds by going to a sawmill and getting free wood slabs. We also grew cold crops through the winter in our little hoop house.

wooden stakes from a shop ?!

… go look in the woods for felled trees/ dropped branches … saw em up to size ..free stakes !

easiest way is planting spuds through the grass,.. brakes up the soil –grass dies down because of no light cover , the following year ye good to go. soils will be nicely nicley.

or , if you have pigs …

anyway , keep the weeds , there IS a reason they grow ..permaculture FTW.

    grow organic :-)

  • alkofallout wrote on 6 April, 2011, 17:12

just put organic mater or some mulch (approx 10-15cm thick) on the ground in the late autumn, then just wait for the spring to come when you need to sow your seeds. Make holes in the mulch or what’s left of it then put the seeds ya want. wait for seedlings to come, then mulch again.. this way you dont need to dig the soil and to damage to its structure.

i have an idea to keep unwanted animals in your garden put a low voltage electric fenceing electric fenceing that will not electricuite or killl the animal but it will give all animals succ a painfull and uncomfordable electric shock soo that no animals will ever eat your tomato plants ever again
